Beatty, Editor Emeritus of the Vick Family Newsletter, is the Bibliographer for the nationally-acclaimed Genealogy Department of the Allen County Public Library in Fort Wayne, Indiana. A native of Detroit, he holds Master of Arts degrees in History and Library Science from the University of Michigan and has published widely on genealogy and Indiana local history. Di Ann Vick, Editor of the Vick Family Newsletter, did her under-graduate work at Lamar University in her native Texas and completed her graduate degrees in American Studies at the University of Pennsylvania. Formerly with ABC Publishing, she is now a free-lance academic press editor specializing in early Southern history. She is active in historic preservation and is deeply involved in saving the historic buildings in Sabine County, Texas. She lives in Philadelphia, surrounded by history. About the Publisher James B.
